Take beginning runners from the couch to road to 5k and beyond. I specialize in coaching distances from 5k, to 10k, to half marathon. Dreaming even bigger? I can coach you to your first marathon.
In the summer of 2010 I looked in the mirror and saw a person who was overweight and downright angry. Both my physical and mental health were in a precarious state. So I joined a weight loss program and began walking on the treadmill. The weight came off, but I still felt like something was missing. Then I signed up for my first 5k and that first race was exhilarating! Surrounded by over 200 walkers and runners, I realized that running and racing made people happy. I wanted to feel more of that!
I ran several more 5ks and wanted to attempt a half marathon, but I needed to learn how to train properly, so I sought the expertise of a coach. My biggest goal was simply not to hurt myself, so I found a coach who would work with me as a newbie. My coach helped me take control of my life and she helped me find fitness and fun again. Now I do the same thing for other runners.
At the beginning of my running career I couldn't imagine running a marathon. Running, however, taught me how to set big goals and how to make a plan for success. As a result, I have been able to run hundreds of races from 5k to marathon distance. As an RRCA certified running coach and a NASM certified personal trainer, I can help you do the same.
Ladies' and unisex tees, tanks, and front zip jackets are now available. Many colors and options online.

Coaching Philosophy
As an ambassador of the running community, I seek to make running an inclusive sport that welcomes runners at all levels and of all ages and backgrounds.
Your coach is also an accredited and Certified Personal Trainer, so your running journey will be supported with science-backed cross training exercises and fueling strategies.
You may not think of yourself as a runner yet, but you are. If you can run five steps, you are a runner.
All movement forward is movement forward no mater what your pace. Running (or walking) with a friend, group, or coach will help you learn your pace and will also give you a support team so that you do not have to run alone.
Of course you can! Guess what: there are no running police. No one is going to jump out on the course, or track, or road and tell you that you can't walk. In fact, walk breaks help recreational runners gain more time on their feet and increase their distances.
Running FOMO (fear of missing out) is a real thing. If all of your friends have signed up for the Dopey Challenge at Disney, you may think that you want to do this too. But be very careful! This is a recipe for injury. The Dopey Challenge consists of a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and marathon. While this is an extreme example, any race, regardless of distance, requires training. If you sign up for a 5k race, you'll need to be prepared, even if running is not your favorite thing.
Attend any road race, including a marathon, and you will see runners in a myriad of shapes and sizes. You'll see runners from age 8 to 80 and beyond. The human race is beautifully diverse and the spectrum of those who become runners is just as diverse. Besides - what does a runner look like any way?
Statistically, you have about as much chance of coming in last as you do of coming in first. However, even if you are the last person across the finish line, you will still get a medal, a hug or high five, and the satisfaction of knowing you finished what you set out to complete. That's a great feeling! There will also likely to be free food and/or adult beverages after the race and no one will ask you where you placed before handing you your banana and beer.
